Need a fairly cheap, fast car that looks good.

As the topic says, I need a nice cheap car that I could race. I'm not really that car familiar and am just getting into them. Can anyone suggest a car?

Anything Chevy.

Reason being, they are easy to work on, cheap to maintain, performance parts for them are everywhere and they are very durable.
Check the ad(s) section on the homepage adn look in "complete racecars", there are some deals out there, you just got to look for them, they won't come looking for you.

He said cheap car. Only the rich get to run a Mopar.

I have not posted for my buddy yet, but he has a turnkey 1976 Nova with a 406 sbc and glide. Nice little chassis car. Complete with trailer for 11,500. Shoot me a pm and I can get you a number.

SP... or look for an add in the complete race car or door car section by Monday.

go with a Pontiac. You have to be brave to run them, LOL.

Find a Big Block Camaro or Nova...they will run decent without a bunch of fancy stuff...just a goos basic BC will still be a torque monster.

Art-

I see "that looks good" on the title too... what about a decent 70 to 73 Camaro w/a BBC or SBC? they are still resonable to buy & can be a semi-investment if you play your cards right. You can make a nice raceable prosteet split-bumper that will look awesome & bring a few bucks when you sell... and you can still land good deals on them still.

Info needed;

- What type of racing (drag / auto cross / road race / ?)

- What is 'cheap' vs expensive (your budget)

- Dedicated race car or 2 timer (dbl duty)

- How fast is FAST to you (speed costs money, how FAST you wanna go ?)
