spacific gravity of fuel slowed my car down?
 
I have a sbc 14.8 -1 comp. naturaly asperated,supposed to run c14 vp fuel.i ran out at my track so i had a a pic of 112 or 118 i ran 118 and slowed from 9.30 to 9.50s,has anybody run 112 in high comp engines?its the only thing the track has,

With out running to much timing I have ran 110 in a 14.5 comp 632 with conv. heads and ran it for 3 seasons running 4.70's and 4.80's in a dragster with no problems.....

What he said ..

We did this on a 565 15.2:1 motor 114 to 112 seen no difference on the track, tear down looked the same.

I run 112 Sunoco Supreme in my 14 to 1 naturally aspirated 511ci

i would think 118 would be a tad much for your motor ..i am not surprised to hear the 2 tenths slow down with the 118 octane.
