Site upgrade issue...
 

Works OK on my desktop it seems. My issue is using my phone. When I try to sign in so I can post or answer a PM, the login takes me to the front page login when i click it. I did not have to login to access the forum on my desktop when I was able to access it after the upgrade, but I do on my phone...

I was not made aware the new site was rolling out yesterday. I was suppose to have receieved a demo of how the site worked etc...I am already getting messages on the classified side of whats going on that they have been banned or cannot sign on..etc.. I HAVE NO ANSWERS..From what I can tell I AM NO longer an admin or Mod..so after 11 years its all good unless PJ or someone else has something in mind for me. Otherwise have a good one guys. I have enjoyed being your MOD/ADMIN the last 11 years. Brian

I was also banned, and sent a email to RJ, someone emailed me back within ten minutes (Brian maybe? not sure) and said they were also locked out and someone was working on it. So someone is aware and is doing stuff...

Just tried my phone again, and it shows me logged in now so progress is being made, lol...

Pretty sure you will get all your super powers back Brian when they get the script bugs worked out.

Not sure whats going on either Brian,but I diid message PJ,I have not heard back,I'm sure once the dust settles,They will add us once again. Thanks for all you do and I'm very thankful for all the wonderful group of guys here that we have.

As far as the phone deal,I'm not as hi tech as some of you,I'm sticking to my desk top here LOL

The actual format was VERY workable before. The CURRENT format is LOUSY aka the ACA website. Wasn't there any testing before rollout ?
Seems that every time a website/forum ANYwhere is 'improved', it just gets WORSE ......CarDomain,BangShift,.......

Actually if you play around with the new format it has a LOT more features than the old one. Something I found today was instead of having to have a picture hosted by another website, the new forum can pull it straight off your computer! You have to go to "advanced reply" then scroll down below the part where you type to the "additional options" section. Here is a pic that I took last week at the Gatornationals and it just pulled it from my computer

Change is a good thing gentlemen, just play around with the new format for awhile, you might be impressed!

What Phone do you use? (and do you just use the default phone browser?) I'll try to replicate the problem.

I tried it on the installed google browser, and I also have Dolphin installed. It doesn't let me log in on either one (an android phone). If I click on the log in link on the forum page, it sends me to the main page log in. I am logged in there. I have tried to log out and back in, but it only logs me in on the main page.

Sounds like you have a cookie issue happening. The settings for your phone's browser needs to have its cookies turned on. What kind of phone is it?

Once you are logged in on the main page, it should log you into the forum. It has been changed so they use the same login.

So, once you login there, does it redirect you back to the forum section - and if so, are you logged in? If not. Try clearing all your cookies (should be in your browser settings), and try the process again.

I still can't log in on my home computer. Phone and laptop I can, but home Computer I can't.
I think I got rid of the NSA guys If that's what y'all are worried about. Lol.

I have a Galaxy III phone. I deleted my bookmark to here on it and tried that. I will test it when i get to work. That is usually when I am on my phone...

Log out. Then clear your cookies on your computer, and see if you can log back in.

If that doesn't work, let us know what the screen/message you get when you try to log in and it fails.

I've cleared my cookies a few times in the looooong lost past ! Tossed 'em like over 10 feet !

That's the weird part. When I click log in the screen flashes like it logs me in, but nothing happens. It doesn't say wrong password or anything. It's like I never click the button.

Ok. I deleted the bookmark on my phone. I then logged back in and I am now on my phone posting so it works. Made a new bookmark. The old bookmark kept sending me to the board unavailable message that we originally got when the migration was taking place. Try going to the forum using a search engine Rabbit instead of a favorite or your browser dropdowns to see if that is the issue for you.

I've already done that. Truth is I didn't remember my password because it was automatic on my old log in.

I tried several times and it finally quit telling me wrong password. I thought I had locked myself out so I logged in on my phone then got on with my laptop.
I wonder if my home computer is locked out because of so many attempts to log in with the wrong password.
The important thing is I can log in with my laptop which means I can log in at work!! Lol

Don't we have a bunch of guys that haven't showed up on the new forum yet??

I'm not at all impressed with the new forum, where is the PM, i've been on here since 2006, i'm helping CSX build a 421 sm/blk and we were communicating in the message box, it seems to be gone so now we are communicating with Yahoo mail, i don't know if my avitar willshow up or not guess i'll find out after this post.

Zip your PM's should still be here, look at the top of the page for the "notifications" tab, click it and click "inbox" it should open right up.

Thanks Bone it is in fact still there, now i guess i just have to go find my avitar, or mak a new one, maybe my Anglia this time, the Malibu was getting old anyway, well maybe not old but my 48 Anglia i like a lot better.

Something that is missing in the 'advanced' option is the 'bold' and any and all font options. Only 'choices' are smilies.????

Been sick guys but yes a little time on the new site its gonna be great.....started my 49 truck LS1 Swap today...whew...hete we go..I got a good man in Monroe Ga on this for me. Steve Kirk ( Outlaw race ) been at his shop all day just got home.

Avatars, sigs, banter. Everyone seems to be starting to getting used to the new style, and the script is getting tweaked to fit. Should be back to normal in a month or so....
