Here is a copy of my e-mail to these IDIOTS below.... what a joke this bill is!!! This just pisses me off!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

To whom it may concern,

As a Native Oregon resident who pays taxes each year, I STRONGLY OPPOSE the bill “HB2186” prohibiting citizens who will no longer have the choice/right to equip their own personal vehicles as they see fit. This bill is completely uneducated & bares little to no benefit to the people of this state. Furthermore, Oregon is not a Communist state last time I checked.

1. Prohibiting these “after market” parts is foolish; as many of the parts IMPROVE fuel consumption!!! (This is easy to prove w/ many stats, documentation & solid evidence).
2. The bill is absolutely SOCIALIZED… the opposite of “freedom”. This bill should not be up to the state… this is a personal, independent choice for tax payers & citizens of Oregon.
3. We do not feel you have the right to make our choices of our own vehicle decisions… we pay for them, service them, pay taxes, insure them, etc… this is not a decision for our state or politicians to make!
4. Last, I personally intend on fighting this bill in an educated & broadcasted manner. There is plenty of evidence to prove that this bill is totally IGNORANT and poorly thought out. I am mechanically inclined as many... our automotive knowledge far out-weighs this bills platform which is based on very few facts… obviously.

I strongly encourage you to drop this bill/idea. If you do not, I will fight vigorously to stop it w/ the masses of freedom-loving Americans & I promise I will make you look foolish (based on your LACK of knowledge) about the automotive industry & how after market parts can totally improve fuel consumption & safety. Drop the bill & stick to what you have more knowledge about that actually benefits the public!!

Organize some people and send emails and telephone calls to the people on that list. They will probably tell you they didn't know there would be that much opposition to this bill. They are intelligent people ignorant on these subjects. I'll call each one myself. I dont have to tell them I live in NM. Lets see if we can kill this bill before it gets started.

I visited with Rep.Bob Jenson, he's saying that he had hundreds of calls up in arms on the bill and that the DEQ is working on amending the bill. He's not committing to whether he's for or against until he see the amended bill. But you need to work on a total kill of the bill. What we've done that has very successful is getting petitions signed and then delivered to each rep or senator. We took a petition with over 2000 signed names and made a copy for each congressman on that committee. I don't know about your state but in some states the names will have to be registered voters to have an impact. I have personally witnessed congressman say they can't vote for some that has 2000 voters petitioned against.

Ok dparker... I am on it too. Thanks for helping out. If doorracer had not said something, I would have found out too late. To me, it is not just the ignorance of the bill alone, it is the complete socialistic approach... this is politically ARROGANT of them to think they can step in like this!! They may be itelligent, but they sure are arrogant & ignorant too.... bunch of silly bean-counters in my opinion.

HEY RIGS,It sounds like you have members in your state house have too much time on their hands.Surely those proposed house bills do not sound like they are coming from knowledgeable people.FISHMANJOE

Gentlemen:

Oregon is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It is sprawling with wildlife, green lanscape, many tress, mountains... good hunting & used to be a hell of a logging industry. Simply put, it is amazing to live here sometimes... no sales tax & where I am located, no DEQ either.

But when it come to politics.... WE ARE WACKED. Got some liberals, got some hippies (new & old) all mixed in w/ farmers & ranchers too. I don't know... I am not that old, only 38, but people alot older than I seem to not have very good common sense. I mean, don't introduce a bill like this & not expect to catch HELL for it!! it is just ignorant with no alot of thought behind it... if they are so smart (the politicians) why the hell do they not do some HOME WORK first. JMO- Scooter

There goal on this is to put a bill like this on the table that is so bad that they will get there opposition to compromise to a amended version of the bill. And thats what they wanted all along. I think the people from Oregon have to stand firm and not compromise, but kill the bill completely.

TheYellaBrick 02-12-2009 02:58 PM

My fellow AMERICANs...this is EXACTLY what I've meant by NOT GIVING UP...getting involved in not only automotive related issues but as many as you have time for...I too will be contacting the listed folks and voicing my opposition as it could very well bleed into Idaho some day.
Great post !! Even better response gang !

Note; Our 'esteemed' VP, JoeBee was in Boise today making an appearance at the Winter Special Olympics Games. The participants in those games have a brazillion times more smarts than our 'leadership' does....
