Egt Range

lloking ofr some tuning advice. Have BBC 496 in dragster. normally race at 2500- 3000 ft corrected. 1050 Rupert Dom with belt drive and bypass. Have 170 jet on both sides. I have bought an EGT and see 1069 -1080 at top end. I think there is more in this combo but afraid of lean. What is the ranges for EGT I should see and Max?

thanks in advance

Sounds like your a touch rich, maybe drop down 4 at a time or untill et starts falling off and see what it is.

All egt's are different but anything I've had or seen 1200 is the high side to alky, anymore it starts being inconsistent.

As hammertime stated, every engine likes something different, I've had them like anything from 1050 to 1200. Tune for best ET and don't pay much attention to the EGT (within safe limits anyway).
