My name is Scott. Nickname Rabbit, from Augusta, Ga. Asphalt and concrete were made to get you to the race. Not to race on!! Mud racers give their trucks names because #'s on the side of a car are boring. A name is part of your personality or a statement :!: :!: :!:

Not new to cars, but new to racing them legally
currently building a 67 2dr chevy II sedan. Should be on the road with the 194 in a couple weeks. I want to take it to the track to see how my runs improve over time. I'm building a mild supercharged LT1 block for it. Don't expect to win anything, just have fun.
also building a BMW 325 track only car, but that's on the far backburner set to "warm" also own 64 impala vert 409/425 (not original) 70 el camino SS 396, 56 Nomad, and 97 BMW M3 |
Welcome Impalabuilder.I love the BIG Chevy's .I got a 66 ss that's my daily driver.Dude I love that car.400hp,4 speed and 21 mpg highway :D !!Put some pics up of your rides.I'd especially like to see the Imp and the Nomad!Welcome to the site and have fun. There's alot of good guys and ALOT of good info in here.Talk to you later!!
|
21 mpg in a 66? That's incredible...the day before I bought my 64 I was looking at a 66. Left my number and the guy didn't call until 2 days later. Had to tell him he lucked out. 65 and 66 are sweet cars.
my 64 is in too many pieces to get a good pic  but here's the engine: http://ww2.impala.ws:5204/images/Julius409.jpg as soon as the chevyii is on the road, the Impala starts reassembly mode the Nomad is still in my Dad's garage. That's another winter project...very easy restore: engine, 1/4 panel, and paint.[/img] |
Man those w-motors had some beautiful valve covers.21 mpg in a 66...well it is a factory 327 with a powerglide so that means it comes with airplane gears in the rearend.2.73s.So with a 2.73 gear,a 237/75r15 tire and a 4 speed(no slippage) it turns 1700 rpm at 55 mph and only 2000 rpm at 65 :D Throw in a GM crate motor(Fastburn 385)with a tight duration hydraulic roller and you got yourself a decent little cruiser!Get 18 mpg highway with the A/C on :D Just hope I never pull up beside you with that big w-motor..I'll get smoked for sure!!

Its very cool to be here, no doubt. 25 plus years as a VW tuner, over 4 years with Scion. I love and respect the big three. First car was a bug, still have it lol. I just never grew up. |
YOU NEVER- EVER WANT TO GROW UP COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIVELY |
Well... I just noticed this thread actually... for the first time. I think it is my ADHD probably, but I never actually did this thread or noticed it months ago as I have been posting. Name is Casey (go by Rigsby here) WMM, 38, 2 kids (4&6). I have a 69 Camaro BBC, but I want a gasser. Have had 3 Chevelles 68,69, & 72 + a 70 Elcamino. I work for Bowtech Archery, I am a Corp. rep/account mgr. Basicly, I set up dealers & sell them bows & product. We also sell Ross, Diamond compound, etc... Live in Oregon near the ocean. I have only been arrested once... & since then, I quit drinking (Irish). Like dirt bikes, but I get hurt too much so I am getting away from that. I like Waylon Jennings & still think the 80's were cool... I love my country & respect others when they should be respected. Having said this, Obama Hussen Barack akceem' abduhl mohamma is not one of those people. Thanks to you all for answering all of my dumb questions so I don't blow-up my newest motor. Cheers

Name is Dan, 19 years in L/E....I'm not your stereotypical cop, I'm pretty unconventional. Married for 20 years w/3 kids, my oldest starts driving in 6 months. My '68 chevelle (see sig) was my first car, it runs at Bamdimere Speedway. I inherited my mom's '69 Camaro that I'm restoring/building to run in the 12's for my wife.

I run a exotic, luxury, collector, and TV/movie vehicle transport business. www.sho-tyme.com I'm always looking on here for soemthing interesting. |
Hello all, new to R/J my name is Ty from Pottstown Pa I'm into the lowrider and outlaw pro street racing scene kind of a weird mix I guess but just wanted to check in
|
Greetings everyone.
My name is Kenny and I reside on Long Island, in NY. I am a big fan of the NASCAR Whelan Modified Tour and my local track is Riverhead Raceway. I was a bigger fan of the racing at Islip Speedway, but that track was shut down over 20 years ago, but my memories of that track have never faded. Islip was such a great venue. Anywho, just wanted to say hello. Kenny |
