bbc pushrod question

i am beginning to assemble my new dart bbc.it is standard dech height 9.8 with new afr 335 heads and solid roller.iput the heads on with a couple bolts to get an idea of valve clearance and pushrod length,my problem is i put the pushrods out of my old motor and one of those plastic pushrod length checkers and its way off i need a pushrod about .380 longer is this possible.

Anytime you start out with a new combo rocker arm geometry has to be set, no matter what length you come up with.

Mine are about .250 longer than stock.
It's a little more envolved than that cheap plastic checking pushrod you got, it's best left to a competent machine shop.

Heres a 'MUST' read on the subject.

For about $15.00 you can get an adjustable push rod from comp cams that will measure sm/blk and b/blk push rods and will help you set the proper geomerty.

Zip.

The only way to do it in my humble opinion.

The valve train on a Big Chevy is a nightmare anyway...so you want to be sure it is correct.

X all three above. After installing your heads w/gaskets, do the measuring.
