What are you using to monitor your engine?

I will be running a 421ci SB2 motor with Ron's terminator on alcohol.
Any suggestions.....
Thanks in advance.

I have a data recorder from http://rpmperf.com/

Very easy to use and you can slowly build up the system one sensor at a time if you want. I don't have a SB2 but data gathering is all the same. For roughly $620.00 you can monitor engine rpm, drive shaft rpm, converter slippage, battery voltage and have one egt.

Same here. I drive by the old 'seat of the pants' method. Eyes, ears, and butt.

I use a CompuTech DataPro 45. I really added a logger because of the clutch I run which I use engine, input and driveshaft sensors for that . I also monitor acceleration, EGTs, O2, oil pressure, coolant temp, vacuum and shock travel.

If you're looking at the CompuTech you can PM me for a price. I'm a full line dealer for them.

Same here but in doing this i have found adding a engine diaper was a good idea..

TheYellaBrick 09-30-2011 03:23 PM

Diapers are a must as the 'engine' ages

I can certainly see how electronics can 'speed things up', but they just aren't my style for the occasional race I run. I'm a K.I.S.S. kinda guy.

Just trying to see what you guys are doing to get the best of your engines. I already have so much money in this thing, I'm almost afraid of it. Oh well they don't last forever do they!
