ZOOMIES & TOYO SLICKS

over the winter i built a set of 2" zoomies (for nostaligia races) for my 434" sbc roadster also put a set of 33x17x15 toyo slicks, I got to run today at Madras dragstrip 1/8mile @ 2500' my best time last year was a 6.103 & 1.382@60' today i ran a best of 6.093 and had all 1.372 to 1.378 60' times a .484 red light ended my day in the 3rd. round.
I ran the toyos at 6 1/2# I thought I would lose at least a 1 tenth with the zoomies over last year with 2" collector headers but that did not happen. now i did make some changes to the car, I added a second battery to the back of the car also the toyos are about 1" shorter than my hoosiers and moved the M/T back 1/4" which might explain the 60' times. bowler

Glad to see things are coming around for you. From the looks of your 60s I would say you have a pretty racy car now.

Hey Doug, good to hear you got to make some passes, the Zoomies may have cost you some, but the Toyo's from what i've seen around here, have also picked up some on the 60'. Case in point my friend with the 55 shoebox picked up .002 on the 60' from GY's and MT tires with no other changes. I've got a new set of Toyo's to run this year but haven't been out yet.

zoomies

I will run at Woodburn on May 21-22 it will be interesting to see how much the car slows down with the zoomies I ran 9.33 (best) deep staging last year I still have not wired in the launch chip, I will order the chip this week, talk to you later Doug
