What's your competition rpm range? I've run a 6000 stall in a Ford 296 with a Jericho 4 speed on the street fun!!!!!
I love Detroit no matter what brand. I drive all my engines regardless of usage.

Is that your actual measured stall, or just advertised? No, it's not too much for the street, there are guy running much higher stall converters than that. Important thing is sufficient cooling. Also, is it a box converter or custom? Custom converters tend to be more efficient, even at rated stall.

A custom converter is the way to go street or strip.
Then again I always try to run a Ron Davis dual radiator and dual fan setup.
I do wish components were more affordable for everyone.

'Affordability' is all relative to the economic fortune of the buyer.... We've all lived in a rockin' economy when we could 'afford' the best......we're having to adjust our requirements /goals/fixes to a few(or lots of) steps down than we want....The America that WANTS to WORK for 'reward' now has to pay for those who do NOT want to work for reward ......

brickman... thats a interesting twist on converter insight.
