Ford 9" rear end

I just bought a new car and it has a braced ford 9". I would like to know how much rear end dope goes in? Three quarts or ? Thanks

Just fill it to the bottom of the fill plug. When it starts leaking from the fill plug, it is full.

Lively...thanks. But I must be missunderstanding something. If I fill my 9" up to the top of the fill plug ( located on top of the housing ) that would create a LOT of pressure and most likely spit out all over the place...

The fill plug should be on the side of the housing a little higher than the level of the pinion gear. It sounds like you are looking at the pressure vent on the top of the housing.

It's probably a race prepped housing with a fill cap welded on the top and sealed axle bearings. 2 quarts would be plenty.
