Wheel Adapters

I'm thinking of going to wheel adapters to change my bolt pattern from 5-1/2" to 4-3/4" to give me more options on wheels. What do you guys think? Good idea or not? I should mention this is for the rear wheels for a ford 9" with a full floater and pozi. Car is street driven only with a "show off" burn out every so often.

Here's a link to an Ebay store selling adapters;

I already have a place in mind where to buy the adapters, I'm just not sure how well they work. Have you ever used them? Do they extend the wheels outward? Any problems I should know of? Thanks for your reply.

'Adapters'
Street use is ok but severe duty(ANY light strip or road race is 'severe') is unacceptably unsafe. No tech guy worth his salt will let ANY car with 'adapters' pass tech.
Much safer to redrill the axle flanges or obtain axles with dedicated wheel bolt pattern and use correctly offset wheels.

Wheel SPACERS are a different story TO A POINT. Too much spacer puts tremendous torsional stress on the studs in a strip situation.

Thanks for the imformation. I believe I will either redrill or replace the axles. I would hate for one of my wheels to pass me on the road.
