Retarding the timing on blown engine

How much timing should the ignition be retarded on a blown bbc per pound of boost? Or should it?

Blown BBC Timing

Assuming that you are using a mag (locked, no advance), set your total timing within your tuning window and leave it alone.

It totally depends on the engine, blown alcohol usually likes around 32*, if you lay a little nitro on it it needs to be down to 28*'s and even lower depending on how much nitro.

just from my experience

A freind of mine runs a 871 on a 383 small block. He has it set at 32* with an automatic 4* retard at 8lbs. It's 4500 lb shortbed chevy and street driven, but runs in the 11's in the qtr. mile. I don't know how he has it wired up, but he also uses a MSD.

hope this helps
