what tire for super gas
 

my car weight's 2420 with me in it, 434 sbc, will run 143 in S/G, rims are 15" dia. x 16" wide, i need new tires (old are toyo 33x17x15), we ran the car 1 time last year in S/G and we are planning on a couple divisional's and 1 nat. event this year and would like a recommendation on what tire to use 14" to 17" wide?, stiff sidewall?. thanks Doug

Hey Doug how you doing :?: I've always thought the car was over tired and slowing you down on the 60' times. I've got a brand new set of TOYO's 14.5X32's roll out 97.5"yet to be installed on my car. My friend Mike Jorden bought a set od 16X32's for his car last yr (55 shoebox 2650lbs) he picked up .002/.003 over same size GY's, 1.27 60' times, with a 427" sm/blk on alcohol, it runs low 5.60's all day long inthe 1/8 mi.

Zip update on my car i got a set of RHS heads from Chad Speire he ports them to 245cc runners, only 1 problem my shaft rocker bars won' bolt up to these heads! hope they are as good as they look very nice set. I ran Toyo's last year and thought they were very good, size 33x17x15 but are pretty well worn, so i'am looking for a new set of tires, my rims limit me as they are 16" wide i should sell them & buy some either 14" or 15"wide. Bruce told me to try Goodyear 2252 d1 they are 16" tread & 102" rollout & weight 35.3#. I read some of the fast ADRL cars were using a M/T 3910w it is 14" tread but 34.5 tall & use a 16" wide rim tire weights 39#, Toyo quit making drag tires! just got my P/G case recertified can't wait to see if the car improves.
