Carb for bbc 461?
 
right carb for my bbc 461-hyd roller,10,2 comp,ported ls6 heads,edelbrock manifold nr EDE2927-th 400 stall 4000,engine makes 574 hp on flyweel and 413 rwhp i have a 1050 dominator on,maybe it is|too big?The car is a 79 malibu and it will be used for 1/8 mile drag an limited road driving.

1050 is to big IMO a 4150 850-950 would be better.

I agree with David....850 should et better for 1/8 mile but a 1050 would make better power in the 1/4...... :mrgreen:

We ran a 1050 on a dish piston, iron vortec head 406 and was .10 faster than an 800. However, getting the metering right on a 3 circuit dominator can be a pain. I would look at a 4150 style Demon, they flow a little more than a Holley at the same rating.
