:D :D Good to see you are building something....but why not throw a strokedr crank in it and make it a fire breathing 383 or more......might just like that truck then......est on your combo poss 400-450hp....change the cam and throw a stroker crank in it est up to 600-650hp that will break the tires loose :D :D

My question is what do you want to do with the truck.....cruise, race, mud bogs, off roading....I would go with a better head like AFR's of some Darts may be more expensive now but well worth the investment and bump the cam up more lift and duration.....or you could go with a crate engine from GM that ZZ4 350....good engine...good hp....but the other thing that 4X4's like is torque....they also make a 383....which is a stroked out 350

all around great drivability and durability but around 400-450 horsepower

do you have the listed parts or are they the ones that you are considering?

I've got a 92 chevy pu 4X4 that is cheap, dependable, and has great durablity....and the 350 in it is only about 200hp with 200,000 miles....not to blow your candles out...I say the best bang for your buck would be to check out some crate engines....plug and play with a warranty    check out GM Performance, Scoggin-Dickey Chevrolet, Stroker Engine.com, Speed O Motive, PAW Warehouse....I would also be leaning to a stroker engine....best bang for the buck.....Big Blocks work well in those trucks too!!!! :D :D

I got an idea to get that 450 HP figure and be durable and cheap. build it with the parts you have. Then get a NO2 system with a 250 HP plate at a swap meet. Then you can have the 450 HP reliable and cheap. JUST NEVER USE THE NO2, EVER.
The crate engine idea is a good one, that will let you get assembly experience without the trouble of getting machine work checked and get a warranty. You can always add on later to the combination.
