tire rotation
is it safe and or nessary to rotate side to side goodyear 33-15-15 d-5 compound tires after x amount of runs? 8.60 1/4 mile times 2800 with driver door slamer.

i never new you had to rotate slicks. learn something new everyday.

I rotate mine every 15-20 runs. More often if they grain heavily. I think Goodyear reccomends that you mount them with the branded sidewall to the right side of the car on both slicks. Rotate them and make a few passes then put them back. They'll definately last longer....

the tires have about 40 runs and the rubber seams as if it is rolling up and does not roll even across the tire, thats why i ask thanks again for all the advice

That would be heavy. Looks like waves running across the tire. It usually starts on one edge and moves across. You'll need to rotate them before it gets that bad. They wear pretty fast once they start to roll rubber. If they look like sandpaper, you're fine. When they start to develop little waves, you might consider rotating them...

ROTATE THEM theyll last must longer, thats what Ive found!!!! David.

Definetly rotate them. They will feather out better if the rubber still has any life left in it.
