Are fuel tank sumps ok for NHRA rules?

Does anyone know if fuel tank sumps are ok for OEM has tanks per NHRA rules? Seems like I read once in NHRA rules that any OEM tank has to be unaltered, but now I can't spot that rule in the rule book. Anyone know the answer to that question?

Thanks for your help, Larry

Hi, no, I know of no rule for unaltered stock fuel tanks.... maybe in the stock class...
moroso, or comp engineering makes a sump you can install on any stock tank, ......but get a gas tank repair shop to install it for you.... gas fumes and sparks or flame tend to cause the air inside the tank to expand very rapidly....
It may be more cost effective to just install a fuel cell, they are a little safer and look nicer.... summit sells some nice aluminum cells at a decent price.

Thanks for the info. I might have read that in a stock class rules sometime, I couldn't find that rule recently though.
