Manually down-shifting a th350-good or bad?
I bought a th350 that has ~1k on a performance rebuild. On the receipt that came with the trans, it says not to down shift from 3rd. Is this a normal practice with these transmissions? I will be manually shifting the trans fwiw. I apologize if this is a newbie question, I am just getting familiar with the gm trans. Thanks guys.

I know it is hard on the sprag to downshift if you are going very fast.
I was told if you downshift do it easy and at a very slow speed. A friend broke his sprag doing it all the time in a Trans Am, He kinda treated it like a stick shift.. |
You dont have to worry about asking any questions. These guys are alot of help on here.

The new tires and carb are coming around. 1.41 average 60' with the rear wheels and a best of 1.37. New best time of 6.11@110 and I think it is running out of fuel on the last 1/3 or so of the track... |
