I've got the Pro-1, 230s and I think they are really great heads!!! I have been running them out-of-the box (w/ cast runners) on my SBC 427 and it made around 725 HP at the crank. Off season, the Pro-1s are currently at Elliott's Port-Works (Red Oak Texas) and I'm hoping to get about 30 to 40 more HP with Lloyd's port-work and new competition valve job.

ok thanks im looking to build a 500 hp 355 with 10.5:1 on pump gas
im just checking some heads out i think im gonna go with the dart pro 1's or the afr's

Dart makes a great head, but for the price, you can't pass up the AFR, since they are CNC ported and dart is not.

No question, AFR makes some really nice 23 degree heads that perform really well. Specifically, their 235 and 245 Eliminator series, but they'll also cost you a few more bucks over the Pro-1s.

Recently, I've been buying my Dart heads bare, then selecting my own preference valve train components. Like PAC springs and retainers, and Manley Severe Duty + .100" valves. Then have them locally ported!

FYI, CNC-Motorsports built my Dart block SBC 427 short-block assembly and they did an "outstanding job" with the engine build. It has run some 9.0s @ 150 MPH in my tube-chassis car!
