If you don't have any data on the torque curve, you may start at 4500RPM and make a few launches (AT THE TRACK) then change the rpm 200 higher, make a few launches then 200 lower than 4500RPM and make a few launches. It would be nice if you did this all on the same day at the track, and in the same lane. There is not a correct answer for your question, your car and combination needs to decide, and you need to explore each choice and look for a trend by time slip to the 60'.
Food for thought..........

Thanks TopspeedLowet, I'm getting ready to take the car to the track for the first time, i still have a couple of parts to buy ( pg Transmission waiting for my taxes ) & then I will take it for test & tune day at the local track.

General rule is 800 to 1000 rpm below max tq rpm. If its 5400 like my S/B is start with the 4500 as the other poster said, but you may need to go rigth up to 5400 chip to get the most out of the combo. It depands a lot on the cam and wght of the car. My heads are too big for my combo (its what i had) so i run a 5400 stall converter with a 5400 chip to get the most concisten e/t and 60'. Test and tune & have chips from 4200 - 5600 and see what they do. remember more flash (lower rpm chip to max tq rpm) you may start getting the wheels up high. Good luck.
