how tight for roller cam button bbc
 
i have a hubert solid roller cam just needing to know how tight to make the button on the cam or do i get it tight and back off or is it torqued
? thanks guys

I think he is asking how tight to to make the bolts on the cam gear. If that the case the bolts are 5/16"X24, and should be torqued to 25 lbs.

I just make sure mine has a very slight amount of movement...I have no way of mounting an idicator on it with the cover on...can't get to it from the back on my engine stand.

Tod74,you do this by wiping a little grease in the inside of the the timing cover and the timing button,you than stick a little ball of modeling clay on the button,torque down the cover,remove the cover ,than check the thickness of the clay with your micrometer and keep shaving the button until you are where you want to be,thats how I do mine anyway.

also make sure you,loosen,or remove all your rockers... :wink:
