i pulled a 350 sbc out of a truck that was 5 speed now i am trying to bolt a turbo 400 to the engine the flywheel that came off the motor was 168 teeth so i bought a flex plate with 168 teeth but the cente hole in the flex plate is bigger then the center hole in the fly wheel and the bolt holes wont line up am i missing a piece or am i just overlooking something any help that can be provided will be greatly appreciated thanks

Sounds like you have a late model engine, with a one piece seal..{ 87 and newer] I think you just have the wrong flywheel.

This is most likely. I don't remember there being 5 speed trucks before 86.

Also, you may have to pull the pilot bushing so the converter will mount properly.

lots of appreciation

thanks folks i will go to the parts store in a few minutes and check out the two different flexplates from newer model and older model to see if there is any difference and i will let yall know

late model engines and early model engines do have a different seal i found the right flexplate but i did learn that a flex plate for a 95 fullsize truck with a 350 is the same as a 95 s-10 with a 4.3 v-6

As (jbsjunk) says, pull the pilot bushing out of the crankshat or the converter may not seat properly.

Zip.
