I hope all you race is 1/8 mile with that gear  . I would highly recommend a 4.56 gear or 4.88. I would have to say you are going to be a candidate for 6.20 range with a strong 60' short time but no mph with the gear. Good luck to you.

I'll let you know after the 22nd., i just put together a 476" rat, that's going in a 66 Biscyne, same car same weight, same everything except 4.56 gears to run both 1/8 and 1/4mi. i'm guessing 10.40 on the Biscyne @ 650HP. I haven't built a Rat in yrs. because i'm totally s/blk, but we'll see. i'll post ET slips from it. It was/is a left over all used parts motor and i really don't know how much HP it will produce, but we'll find out.

And i sure hope it's in the heat, it's 30 degrees here now.

Some of the best motors I have had came from left over, used parts. You have nothing to lose with them. We had a 355 sbc that was all used, mismatched parts. In the winter we would just back off the valves. Come racing season, tighten valves and check the oil. That motor ran for 3 years in stock body 81 camaro with 1 fiberglass hood. It ran 11.20's all day long. The car got sold. The new owner changed the oil. The next time out he blew it up. I told him not to change that oil

On the plus side the parts are all name brand and look to be good although i didn't have any of them magnafluxed, don't hope to run over 7200RPM.

I run a 10.5x33w on this car, we only run 10-15 passes on these tires with our outlaw 10.5 car so instead of buying new tires for the bracket car , we just re use these. So with the 33" tire and ONLY running 1/8 mile I don"t think we will crank its guts out. I would be very happy with 6.20's thoe!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to know some results. Hopefully you will be racing in KY soon. Those of us in Ohio will have to wait until April to hit the track unless we come down south.

at that weight..i am thinking more like 6.50's ( and thats hooking up all you got off the line)...thats a lot of weight to get down the track with just 700 hp....problem is getting it moving.......

i do hope you get the 6.20 mark tho...

I would be happy with 6.30's to 40's. I will be posting results after the 3rd weekend of march.
