Needing help with ET
My car isnt running the number it should be running.
Been asking around, chatting on other forums..Even done a couple calculators. Everyone has said i should be running 5.30. Builder of my engine says i should be running 5.80's. ET calculators say i should be running 5.30's. Best ive run is a 5.80 Coan Converter Coan T400 with no transbrake 4.88 rear gear 4 link Coil overs Lower 4 link bars are level with car running a 32 tall 14 wide tire, 60ft's range from 1.34s to 1.38s. Where to look first? Time to pull the converter and get it checked out? Its not even 2 years old and only has about 1 full season on it. |
Not saying the calculators are wrong but every car i've seen running 5.30's is in the low 1.20's 60' times and i don't know if you can do that with a footbrake car, you have too remember that the first 100' is the biggest gain in ET, the rest is smoking a cigarette and eating a sandwich. Put a transbrake in it and i'm sure you'll see the big improvment you are looking for.

Here's an example, from the GM super show this yr..
The right hand ticket, both cars are friends of mine. The # 3 car is a 3900lb Biscyne and the car in the right lane is a Luv truck, footbrake with a 434" on Nitrous, the tickets are not real clear, but you'll see 1.27 60' on the truck and 5.49 1/8 et. and 8.60's 1/4 mi on the truck. It's a true 10.5 tire truck. Zip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...2010ET-1-1.jpg |
