piston ring gap
 
I have tried doing a search on the net and cannot find any info on what i should gap my mahle psitons rings for a sbc 383....they have metric rings 1.5 mm 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm rings part number sbc125030d11......my 383 sbc with 65 cc heads make 13.42 cr.........i am googled out looking thanks guys

Whatever the manufactuer recomends, there should be directions with them, should be determined by bore size.

When all else fails, read instructions. :D :D

Sorry but the reason i am asking is because i do not have instructions and i cannot find any info form the manufacture on there web site.


I am not using nos and the block is iron and the block is not filled......strictly drag application.........thanks

We use .005 per inch of bore and .002 larger gap on the second ring than whatever you run on the top.any questions feel free to call me @ 828-286-0780 Bill

not a quote here - just wanted to say thats a nice lil car you have - pinto, i think its the best one ive ever seen

Thanks for that..........looks a lot different from when i bought it for sure........i just pin stripped the flames which brings them out a lot better and tinted the windows and put on a rear wing........I ordered new mahle rings and they have instructions inside the box......thanks for replies
