Exhaust Question

I'm getting closer to the road. I have a '66 Chevy II with a 355 w/671 blower. I will be 70% street and 30% track.

My questions are:

Is there an advantage to 4" exhaust over 3"?

Is an "H" or cross over pipe needed or power benificial?

I am looking at strait back with turn downs or out the side in front of the back tire. Car is back halfed with a 4 LInk. Dr. Gas has low profile oval tubing that helps with ground clearance.

Any and all opinions are appreciated before I spend the bucks.

Thanks, Steve

3" will be fine for the CID and usage. 3.5" might help out a little, but 4" will be overkill.

Any thoughts on the advantage of an X or H pipe. It would be very difficult to do, but possible. Would also make it harder to work on.

But if there is a genuine advantage it may be worth it.

Thanks again

The H pipe sometimes refered to as a balance tube helps balance out harmonics in the exhaust, you wouldn't be looking at losing any significant hp gains by not running one. Save yourslef the headache and bypass the thought.
