I just formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro on my computer and now all of my usb ports are not working. Does anyone know how to correct this and get them working please?
Thanks,

If you have service pack 2, you can run it and it should correct the problems, same as sound and media player.
If you donot have it and your disc is ligit, you can go to windows update and install it for free. I have windows xp-pro on two computers and i had similar problems until i ran the service pack.

JMO,

You should have a CD with the drivers for your chipset. These drivers are sometimes not installed with XP depending on the chipset. You need to install these drivers. If you don't have the CD but know which chipset you have you can usually find them on the chipset maker's website.

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes.

agreed about the drivers. You should have an other cd with the drivers on it, or you can get them from the manufactures website usually.
