trans in 69 chevelle , car wont move without high rpm's. street fighter ,2800 breakaway. im trying to figure out what's broke. problem after hard takeoff.

im guess'n blew up the forward (input) sprag

sorry i didnt say earlier. my car will move back and forth if rpm,s high, around 3500, didnt make loud sound when this happened.i launched from footbraking, and when it shifted the rpm's hit the rev limiter.done from there. TCI tech don;t have even a clue.what gives there build?

Chance you could of broke the convertor. if thats the case it more than likely threw metal through the pump and all through the trans.

what size of engine are you running and how much hp you putting to it? Are you racing it all the time or street/strip?

Company i work for, we have several stages of 700's. from cruisers to 700 hp street strip supercharged cars. From what we've seen....the tci streetfighter is no more than a "stock" rebuild with a shift kit and a couple updates. They say rated for 450 hp but thats a little overrated especially when you put it in a heavy car like a chevelle.

I changed fluid with royal purple, thats just what i use good or bad . trans has run 4 summers no issues . ive only raced on a track with FATGIRL,HA HA ,CARS NAME ,NO MEAN,INTENTIONS. 5 1/8 PASSES AND 3 1/4 PASSES. CAR WENT 8.48 IN 1/8 AND 12.93 IN 1/4. 28.5 hOOSIER QUICK TIME PRO, 3.31 REAR GEAR. 408 BIG BLOCK , DYNO AT STEVE MRRRIS ,SAYS 274 HP AT WHEELS ,SEEMS TO LITTLE TO BREAK ANYTHING .IVE ONLY USED MY TOP GUN 150 NITROUS A FEW TIMES , NEVER ON A TRACK. THE FLUID LOOKED AND SMELLED LIKE I JUST POURED IT FROM ABOTTLE. no noises when it let go. thanks alot HAWGWILD396.
