what would be the right length of rear shock on a 4 link vega. thanks

Support the car at ride height and measure the distance from the upper to the lower shock mount. THAT measurement will be the middle of your shock travel. Add 3 to 4 inches for suspension 'unload' and subtract 3 to 4 inches for suspension 'compression'.
