Alternator plug

On my 1971 nova it has an alternator with a internal regulator. The terminals on the alternator for the two way plug are marked 1 and 2. Does anybody know what color wire goes to the number 1 terminal and what color goes to terminal 2. The two colors are blue and white. I looked at my schematic and it doesn't show what color goes where. Does it make any difference. I tested the terminals with a meter and it's all over the place on both terminals.
I looked at my 67 but it has a regulator and the alternator terminals are R and F.

If it's a stock type alternator the #2 terminal loops to the battery terminal to the battery. The #1 terminal will go to the alternator light and the other side of the alternator light should go to the ignition switch for power in the key on position. This circuit switches the alternator on through the bulb. If it's a 1 wire alternator you don't use the small terminals.
