gen 6 block? HELP!
 

What is the hp rating on a factory gen 6 block 4 bolt 4.5 bore 9.8 deck?Will this block be good for a 540 with 850 hp and a 250-350 shot of nos?Will it hold up with the factory main caps?

Total hp with nos will be 1000-1250 will this blok be ok?

It should be ok.
Get us a part # or a casting # of that block.

The factory 502 was not as strong and was weaker in the main webbing than the BowTie was.

The head gaskets and gen 4 heads are not easily compatable either but cam be swapped and made to work.

I was trying to look up the problem with that block and Ed hit
it on the head about the webbing, it should be fine but the article
said they would not waste their time on it, and i don't know if it
was the gen V or VI but you had to use the stock timing gear
due to clearence would not allow the use of a dbl roller, they did not
have a after mkt cover for it, i could be wrong but i think it was
one of those blocks, they made changes on the 572 block.

I have heard there is issues with the gen 5 and 6 blocks with head gaskets?? True or false???????
