Please let someone know what are doing or invite someone over if you are going to uder your car even on jackstands or on a good jack....life is too short as it is....

That is sad. I nearly always work on race cars and run them often by myself. I always figured that what ever I did not see or do myself will be where problems are most likely to occur. This is a sober reminder that you can not be careful enough sometimes. Sorry to read about this accident.

Very sad and sorry about his lost. I think we all go out to the garage and work away with out being safe sometimes. We have a racecar full of the top safety stuff there is, but sometimes in to big of a hurry to put stands under the car.Life is to short, news like that makes you take a step backwards and think.

Sad indeed.

When I put my car on jack stands. I let the jack down about 1/2 inch fromt he jacking point and shake the car (without me under it), if it falls off, then you didn't have it supported good. If it stays on, then it's safe to work under it.
