How to estimate new engine mileage?
 

When planning an engine build, how can one estimate potential fuel mileage? Thanks.

If you are building a race engine who cares as long as its fast :roll:

Way to many variables here.

Think you might want to tell us BB or SB, use of engine, alcohol or gas, NA or blown etc.

I could say it will get 100+ mpg but that is as silly as your post.

I have been happy with about 3 gallons per mile

that includes .driving to the lanes and making a pass and of course driving it back

i used 2 gallons of methanol per run, warm up and pass, tow back. not sure what kind of mileage that works out to. i was ok with that :lol:

fuel mileage may vary :shock:

I'm with chevyguy65 on this one, thats was to general of a question to even think about answering.
