should i run solid motor mounts

I have a 83 camaro with some after market suspension parts hotchkis rear control arms
hotchkis adjustable panhard bar
energy suspension bushings
adjustable torque arm, cant remember who its made by
Koni adjustable struts
subframe connectors- welded in also had a 9 inch rear in it.

I have stock motor mounts in it and the motor is out i am putting a new motor in it with about 500hp , should i replace the mounts to solid ones if so wich ones thx to all

if the car is strickly strip and some times street go solid, if mostly
street and some times strip go poly mounts to help on the pot holes
from the street moroso makes a good solid motor mount good luck 8)

also keep in mind..ANYTIME you solid mount motor, tranny or any other part that is in the path of energy transfer.....you lose the shock absorber effect you once had..meaning that the energy will travel right thru your soild mount and keep traveling until it finds a weak spot and will exit there...causing a break or material failure if you do not have the right kind of set up ( see below)

i know many guys out here who solid mount trannys, if they are not breaking tranny tunnels etc..it means they are running after market cases and pro-drive line set ups...same as a front plate...a mid plate is the proper follow up for added insurance

if it were my car ..i would poly mount the engine and tie down the block,..you get the best of both worlds...you can also go with a Mid plate and resolve a lot of flex issues.

IMO.

i did not think to use the mid-plate on poly mounts, what about body
mounts bjuice, solid or poly, lot of torque twist ont he body, was
going solid :(

i would not be so concerned with the Body mounts if its a subframe car, if you have installed subframe connectors..it will eliminate the body roll ( flex) you are speaking of with the body mounts...the most inexpensive effective chassis mod anyone could do to a stock suspension SUB-FRAME car..IMO.

If this is primarily a street car, stay with rubber or poly mounts. DO NOT under any circumstance use a solid trans mount.

MY car has solid motor mounts and a rubber trans mount but it has a motor plate on front to control twist I guess...is this a bad idea?
