850dp Marine carb

Whats the difference between the Marine carb and the reg carb?

J tubes is the only thing.

Someone tried to convince my bud it wouldn't run
Over 4000 rpm? You mean the vent tubes curved to prevent water from getting in the carb?

In early 80's being young and NO money ..ran whatever I could bolt on. ..I ran a 600 or 650 cfm marine carb standard bore with manual secondaries on a 355ci and turned it 6500 rpm ..very responsive....

No the vent tube's are curved so if the needle and seat get's stuck or dirt in them and the fuel blows over the fuel goes back into the carb and not all over the intake and engine . on boats the engine being covered up and all that gas and fumes can cause a major problem like a big explosion and fire most all states require marine engines to run J tubes.
