Broke a couple a few years ago in dad's boat motor. Had access to a SEM (?) and they were full of metal shavings. Bad castings.

If you don't already have rods, I'd recommend MGPs. They're what I used in my most recent motor. http://www.mgpconnectingrods.com/products.htm I'm using the BBC6500 series with a 1.094 pin. |
Well, I just took new set of Groden's in on trade, I have used grp & mgp in the past. No problems with either one for drag strip applications. I use the oliver rod for street applications.
Just curiouis, They look like a nice set and the owner says he backs them up strip or street.... Yeah you heard me.......Street or Strip The only thing I can say about using aluminum rods for daily drivers is a 1932 Boat Tail Bear Cat Stutz utilized aluminum rods. Not many of those cars made, but the one I know of is still running strong on its original build. |
