plug gap

Only had my coupe about 3 weeks now andd was finally able to really drive it.Breaks up quite a bit.Has msd 6al and msd blaster 2 coil.Pulled plugs to check them.Checked gap and it is only .025.From what I have had in past with msd was told plug gap should be somewhere .050-.060.Could wrong gap have caused my plugs to foul or somehow affect my breaking up.Has autolite 45 plugs and is a 351w if that helps any.Thanks,Randy.

Replaced plugs and gapped at .055.Runs alot better. But now when i floor it it shuts off.Seems like its running out of gas.I can let out on clutch since its already in gear and it will start right back up.Fuel pressure is at 7 psi when shuts off.Carb is edelbrock 600.I have been told it is too small and am planning on replacing with Holley 750 dp soon.Could carb be primary problem. Thanks for advice on plugs.

Oh the dreaded edlebrock peformer flat spot, junk that carb and save yourself the headache of even thinking you can get it right.
I would recomend a Holley HP 650 double pumper unless your motor has allot of compression and cam your gonna want the smaller carb.
You'll get much better throttle response from a smaller carb than going to a bigger one like the 750. Also I would recomend a tad less plug gap than .055, somewhere between .035 and .040 is where you wanna be.
Goodluck, Charles
