E85 enthanol conversion

:?: does anyone know what it takes to convert a carburated engine to E85 enthanol? I heard you need a stainless fuel tanks, will a poly tank work? what about fuel lines?
I would like to use E85 in my `47 Coupe for the performance increase.

Ethanol is a lot like methanol as far as corrosion is concerned, so a poly or stainless tank should work fine. A buddy of mine ran 100% ethanol with a carb a few years back and ran great. Better cooling and more power. He picked up a little over 2 tenths over gas in his 10 sec Chevelle. I suggest you talk to Dave Slatton of Slatten Racing Engines in Fort Collins Co about switching to E85. He runs it exclusively in his cars....
