new slicks

I have only put new slicks on this car once before and that was 2 1/2 years ago and i don't remember how much improvemnt i gained, the question i have is what is average improvemnt most of u guys are seeing....i realize that depends on how old and bad the tires were before replacing them, i am just trying to get a idea what to expect and also most people run like what 150 passes on there tires.....mine have 250 passes and i think that i should see a big improvement hopefully 1-2 ths would be nice. with new tires........thanks guyss

We haven't seen much improvement in e.t. but in consistency mostly when we have changed to new.

Check your 60' times from way back and see if its dropping, thats where the loss will be. 250 is a lot of passes. Mr Lubers at Hoosier told me 120 passes is about the limit with Top Sportsman type cars. Pro Mods change 'em after only 20 passes to make sure the times don't drop off.

Actually i checked my time slips and there is 285 passes.

I changed the tires from Goodyear eagle standard sidewall and compound i think is m5 to a set of mickey Thompson with l8 compound(softer) and a stiff sidewall.

Went to the track this weekend and with the new tires my 60 foots sucked until i figured tire pressure and had to play with front shocks and back ones............first pass i did a good burn out but had lost .07 in my sixty foots but today i got it to .02 ............the air was better then it has been all year and the car ran .07 faster then it ever has so i think maybe a little more playing and i will get the other .02 back
