I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that ANYONE looking to spend over 100k on a hauler will be looking in THE CLASSIFIEDS, because people with 100k to spend are usually smart. They understand that Classifieds are for selling things and FORUMS are for discussing things.

You know guys, I was about to tell the original poster that advertising in the forum isn't allowed. We have been over this many times. We blasted littlerod for it over and over again. Then I tried to find where it says "NO POSTING ADS IN FORUM" and I could not find it. As a matter of fact, I couldn't find any forum rules posted.

For all the times we've got on people's case for it..is there anywhere that actually says what can and can't be posted? I can't find it if there is.

The way Autounion posted his add is acceptable.

Its the guys coming from ebay, and forum written for sale adds is whats not allowed.
This is Racing Junk correct? And its a Racing Junk add that Autounion wants to discuss.

So with that said,I'd say no violation as far as I can see, thats just my opinion here, others may vary

Good p;oint but now we are goinmg to have every guy with an ad posting a new thread in the forum directing us to his ad. That will turn the forum into a bunch of threads "HEY LOOK AT MY AD HERE" it is NO different than what LITTLEROD used to do.

I respectfully disagree that he wants to discuss his ad. He is trying to draw more attention to it.

But you are the boss.

Well you are right but at the same time, that wasn't Rudy's ad. In that case I believe he was just trying to discuss the extremely high price of the part.

As I said, you are the boss. No skin off my teeth I just would hate to click on "view unread posts" to see a big list of threads started only to direct us to members ads.

It is now established that this is allowed so I will stop busting people's chops for doing it. I thought it was against rules. My apologies.

I have to agree wit Tod here. This is a discussion forum, not the classified ads. You will end up with people spamming the forums and putting all kinds of crazy posts all over. What's the purpose of the forum if it ends up flooded with for sale items that we have to wade thru in order to read non-sale topics?

I know that the posting rules for a classified state that the ad must go into a section that directly pertains to the item being sold. Is this the RV Forum?
