Alcohol in cold weather
what is a good starting tune for an injected smallblock in 20-30 degrees??

Depending on what type of injection you are running, I'd say a gasoline primer would be a must at those temps. It would help a lot if you used a block heater first............ 8) JB

Generally I find brandy to be the best alcohol for cold weather. Gets ya warmed right up.

If a primer is out of the question, then carb cleaner is the best solution. open the blades spray it in for 3-5 seconds, try and start it, usually starts and dies, do it one more time and done deal.
Do not just pour gasoline in there, carb cleaner is much safer. |
Put your car in a heated garage! When temps get that low I'm not racing!!!

x3 on the block heaters!!! Ran them this past weekend when temps only got to low 50's and spent most of the time in the 40's. Plug them in 1st thing in the morning. About 2-3 hours later out of the box at 120 water temp. Car starts easy. Plug them in after the run and very little fuel used to warm up. We made 11 1/8 mile runs and used about 17 gallons of fuel. This is warm up and driven to the lanes and back to the trailer.
