fuel cell foam
how long do you go with out changing, or do you remove it all togeather?

Haven't run foam in any of our cars in the last 25 years. (drag cars)

I drain the cell completely each fall. I'll be replacing the foam this winter as it is about 10 years old. My foam has lasted this long cuz I do drain the cell each fall.

Without the foam you run the danger of fuel sloshing away from the fuel pump hose if the cell is a little low.

On a hard launch fuel goes back and of course it has to go up too.
This can cause a small amout of air to get in the lines and cause the motor to run out of fuel for a split second. Foam does help to control the sloshing effect. It will break down over time,but it's pretty cheap to replace. I'm to slow to take any chances so I still use mine. |
