Summit Stall Converters

Anyone had any experiences with the Summit Stall Converter for Powerglide? Just doing a mildly built small block with a Bracket II cam. Need a Stall over 3 grand. This one is the cheapest "I know you get what you pay for"... It's down to that and an ACC 32 to 3600 stall. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Luke I think B&M make those...will be ok....but I like Coan Convertors...blown serveral cheap ones...I have had pretty good luck with Coan...reason is that they are pretty close to rated stall speed...you cant get a 3000prm rated stall speed and it will stall from anywhere from 2800-3200rpms...Coans that I have had a been darn nearn perfect on the cosistancy...have a 3800 in right now

Where do you find this Coan converter? Thank you for your response!

You can't say a converter is a "300 stall" or what have you...you can just get in the ball park. Put a converter rated at 3000 behind a 327 in a Vega...then put the same converter behind a 540 in a chevelle and see what the difference is. It will be significant.

I run a COAN too....great converter

I think if someone is looking at a $200-$300 Summit converter for a mild engine...sending them to lok at a COAN is gona make him inhale deeply...LOL. Mine was almost $1000

Yeah thanks man but I think that's a little more than I'm looking for. If I were to be going "all out" on a converter I would buy a TCI, LOL. I'm just looking for a stall from 32-3600 for a 3 grand truck. It's a 350 with pro top line heads, Lunadi bracket II cam, vic jr intake, Holley 750 on a glide with 410's and a 26 inch tire. This is just a part time hobby throwing together some stuff I already had and just need to button up. Thanks again though for your input, always looking to learn!

Don't know how much Summit charges for their converters, but i use PTC converters, and you can buy a bullet proof 10" built specific converter from Kenny Ford @ PTC for about $400.00, i did for my prostreet Sonoma 4,000 stall.

JMO

Zip.
