I thank all of ya'll for your help and yea the the tires comming up don't really excite me. it's the getting there the quickest is what I want to do. here is my last time sheet 60' 1.43
330 4.014
1/8 6.203
MPH 112.08
I'm running 8# of air in the slicks and I'm shifting @7000
the last three were very close to this sheet. any and all help will be apreciated. I don't know anything about tunning a chasis so any help there. it is a ladder bar car. and the car runs perfectly straight from A to B now there is one thing the left side front to back sets 1'' lower than the right side. I thought that was a torque thing
Thanks to everyone, Andy

if you have adj front shocks, a few clicks stiffer could help hold the front end down some, a little wheels up stuff is not that bad, provided it happens slowley, in other word pulled up, not yanked up. what front holes are the ladder bars mounted in?

Have you thought of your converter? Might not be right for your combo. Just something to think about.

I think the other owner thought that it was the converter. I have all the paper work where he sent it back to coan and had it worked to all the cars specs so I don't know bout that. I'll stiffen up the front shocks and see if it helps.

tickin the clicker

I have looked at the times the car is running and looking at the 60s and the 330s and the mph it looks as the converter is unlocking and killing the car just look real hard at the rpm drop between gear changes and subtract that from the rpm at the stripe and you will find your lose

Just given some highlites of studies over the years !

A video of the car leaving would be helpful. Are you spinning the tires? Are you unloading the rear end? Have you tried different tire pressures? I used to run 6.5 psi as that is what worked best for me. Make only one change at a time so you don't have it change and not know why.

You car weighs what mine weighs.2450 car and 220 for me.I run a 4.88 gear set currently and leaving at only 3600 can get a 1.40 -41 60 in the heat(1.36 to 1.37 turned up in the heat) .Think you may be onto something with the converter.Got the power,e.t is good but 60 is suffering. Lower gear set like said should only pick up a few hundreds but also may cause you to have addtional starting line issues. .I was running a 5.14 gear set with no wheelie bars only to stand the car straight up and come down and do some damage in 03. Afterwards a set of 4.88's wheelie bars and all was fine.
