port matched intake on stock 781 heads
 

Hello, Run a 489in chevy with unported 781 casting heads. 219/188 valves being the only Mod. Have a dart intake that I am sending in to have some work in the chamber under the carb. Would it be ok the port match the manifold. Am worried that the ports would then be bigger than the cyl head ports. Kinda like using a square port intake on it. Thanks

Well if you port match the ports, they should match exactly, thats the concept of port matching.

Its best to have them the exact same size or as close as possible, or leave the intake ports smaller, having them larger than the ports on the heads will cause turbulance and actually reduce flow.
