Don't remember who
Recently i browsed over an article where one of the major engine builders put togeather a 505ci small block i believe based on a Dart tall deck, anyone know who the builder is?

don't remember anyone building a 505, but I do know there are 482's running around.

I remember now
Was driving me nuts i could not remember who built the 500 plus cubic inch small blocks, well it turns out it's Sonny Leonad. Talked to one of the people at Sonny,s and he explained to me that Sonny had in fact built a 505 small block approx 10 years ago on a after market block. Recently he built a 524ci small block for a grudge racer but that engine was based on a block cut from a chunk of billet aluminum.

You can build a 511 right from Chevy. 4.25 bore by 4.5 stroke LSx block. http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/...#/0ede9029/206 Cap it off with the GM LSX-DR heads and make 900 normally aspirated HP. |

Here, if you prefer, same bore/stroke in a standard small block. |
Apparently i must be stuck in yesteryear, i'm gonna have to get with the program.

To do it right, and not use offshore rods/crank and other junk... I'd imagine in the 12-14k range.

Seen an ad in my new ND today that Dart is advertising their 500" small blocks.
