Another converter ?

I've got a couple options on converters. Which is better? A little tight or a little loose and why. Thanks.

Loose is the only thing I will run, why its more consistent and more MPH, if a converter company tells me 6200 I tell them 6400.

Example here from this year at 131, my tight converter runs identical 1/4 as my loose but the tight converter is 4 faster to the 60ft and 3 faster to the 1/8th. 1/4 MPH is 4 better with loose and its deadly with the loose converter, its common to see people want looser instead of tighter stuff.

There is 500 difference in stall between the tight and loose ones I own.

Thanks David, i'm just trying to figure out what to buy for the new combo. It's tough to swallow $850 to $1200 for a new one. Money gets a little tight this time of year. There are plenty of used ones out there just havn't found the right one yet. Thanks Mike

What was the old one ?

I know what you mean, its very taugh to swallow 1k on a converter when you may have something that works.

A 9" 6200 stall sprag style is something I would be looking for, for your setup with the new combo.

I had a TCI 8" behind the 477. I know it won't be enough for the 540.

yep would think a 9" this go around, 8" might be more aggressive then ya want.

Which brand ya leaning towards, can fill ya in on some savings if you get a # for the converter from say Hughes call jegs and get the price with your discount it'll be $100-150 off price from Hughes.

Call Coan and talk to Art Reed he can hook ya up and one of the nicest guys you'll talk to

Yeah David, i was looking at Neal Chance,Coan,&Hughes. I found a pretty good deal on a Hughes i'm gonna check into a little closer. It looks too good to pass up.

I like Hughes, ran a Hughes in my last car it was a good setup.

Used converters arent a terrible idea IMO bought several new and used with great luck everytime :D

Happy Holidays also :D

Yeah, just sent the $$$ this morning for the Hughes. Has about 25 passes on it for $500. Not bad i didn't think when they told me $1150 for a new one.

Happy Holidays to you also and thanks.
