holley fuel pump or what ?

it me again.
i have a bg220 and just last night when i shut it off it will not start up until i tap it . i think its getting too overheated . im running it through 1/2 inch aluminum line and a 8an return at pump with the main feed dead headed at regulator of 7 psi. im thinking of running a 310 product engineering but i think it will do the same if i dont run a bypass return. or im going to try a holley blue or black they dont seem to ever fail. i have a blue and the prod engine will cost me 200.00 used..im only running 10.80's to 11.10's. so blue should do it . just let me know your ideas if possable. very bothersome . ive never has a blue fail but i wanted better...thank sagain guys
