lost on a 351 clevland in a coupe

i heard that clevlands were discontuend along time ago so if theres a mustang with one chances are its about to go...
well my friends grandad might sell his 89 coupe suposedly built 351clevland that runs 12s all motor on 1050 carb... stock chassy that wasa 4banger....i think he might sell for 4grand maybe 4500...
question-
would u guess 15mpg on hwy
shouldnt a built clevland run better
are these motors any good and hard to find parts new
can u use windsor parts on clevlands or no
do you think these clevlands are to old to be reliable street cars

thanks... he doesnt know to much about the car and his grandad stays to busy runnin his busyness so its hard to get in touch with him.. just lookin for info on clevlands..i plan to install a 70mm turbo from on 3 perfermance at 15psi..... you think that would be enough for high 9s low 10s???

#1---if you know nothing more about this car then RUN away
#2-- 8-10 mpg at the most
#3 yes--with the right gears and tuning a Cleveland is very strong :o :o
#4 very good and hard to find used parts for :? :?
#5 NO NO NO
#6 VERY RELABLE[ IF PUT TOGETHER RIGHT] AGE HAS 'NOTHING TO DO ABOUT A GOOD STREET ENGINE' 8)
# 7--- if you have this many ????? on this engine and you plan on boosting it also---then---do more homework and build a 5.0 for it with the boost--10's will come easy then with the right drivetrain and DRIVER 8) 8)

The Clevland was a good street motor and parts are hard too find. But instrestingly Bob Glidden who was ProStock champion for many years never ran a Clevland engine, only the Winsor, that should tell you something.

I am a Chevy guy and I always wondered why the aftermarket didnt produce more stuff for the Cleveland 4V. The head design for racing is probably the best thing going (full race motor) to make power. If you look at the DRCE GM pro stock head it is so close to a Cleveland layout its almost a twin! The cleveland 4V is not good for the street (to big without compression and gears) but with the exhaust side corrected it is a super design. They say that the cleveland head was a copy of the BBC head but I am not so sure of that, if anyone knows it would be interesting to hear.

hey lively thanks for the easy reply...he said if his grandad was goin to sell it he would ask 4500 for it with the welds and clean body..so i thought it couldnt be a bad deal esp with a cheap turbo from on 3 perfermance that can easly make it a 9sec car...but thanks fella's....although i am kinda worryd abt the car since yal said parts arehard to find....
